Do I need any special tools to do the installation?
No special skills are necessary to install synthetic Viva palm thatch roofing. The only tools you need are coil roofing nails with a pneumatic nail gun, a hammer, Utility knife, ladder and a tape measure. Recommended fastners are 1 1/4 inch stainless steel ring shank roofing nails or stainless steel screws 1.25” #8.
I really like the look of the thatch hanging over the edge of the roof. Is there a way to make this look lush and full?
Yes! Most people’s eye goes to the eave of a thatch roof, so having it full and lush gives it a very natural look. Please see our Extended Eave Panel, these will certainly give you the look you are trying to achieve!
We are concerned about hurricane-force winds at our beach cottage. How will your product hold up?
The Viva Palm Thatch has been tested to 110mph winds and has passed three different certified wind tests as well as a pull-out test and an uplift test!

Viva Palm Thatch is a synthetic palm leaf thatch that incorporates an authentic palm leaf pattern and full texture to accurately mimic the look of natural thatch. It is manufactured in the USA and delivers excellent quality at a more affordable price than other high-quality synthetic thatches. Viva palm thatch panels are manufactured from HDPE and are available in both fire retarded and non-fire retarded versions.
