Ron Jon Surf Shop
Ron Jon Surf Shop was designing a new store and wanted the theme to be as natural and authentic as possible. We literally had to bring the outside environment indoors!
Components
- Tre-Gai Bamboo (window trim)
- Bac-Bac Mat (matting around attic window)
- Woven Willow (interior of shop)
- Woven Bamboo Plywood (display stands)
- Mexican Rain Cape (Large thatch roof)
Challenge
Ron Jon’s designers created structures such as “merchant kiosks,” wall treatments, interior roofs, and display stands. It was our job to select the perfect materials to “theme” all the components of the design. Our product line is such a natural fit for Ron Jon that it made the project easy and fun!
Strategy
The feature merchant stand had a huge sail-shaped roof. For it we adhered pre-fire retarded Mexican Rain Cape to a plywood roof. We installed one layer on the interior of the roof and one layer on the exterior. All the display stands were covered in a woven bamboo plywood, and some had small thatched roofs of Mexican Rain Cape. The main window dressing feature was a “beach hut” themed with Tre-Gai Bamboo and a decorative matting, Bac-Bac mat. The inside walls of the hut were themed with a woven willow, that has a rustic textured look.
Results
The store is an absolute smash! We met all the theming requirements for our client while creating the tropical and rustic setting which shows their products to best effect.
