Epic Systems Campus

Epic Systems Campus 24-Foot Tiki Hut

Epic Systems has a unique work campus in Verona, Wisconsin. When they approached amaZulu to build a unique breakroom for their employees, we proposed constructing a tiki hut on the water’s edge. Each building at Epic Systems has a different theme, so a tiki hut would fit right in! Look at the slideshow for the construction process.

Components

Challenge

EPIC Systems, a software developer, in Verona, Wisconsin, has created a unique work campus. Each building has a different theme – from a pirate building to a medieval castle. They wanted a tiki-themed outdoor break area for the employees to add to their eclectic collection of unique buildings. When they contacted @TikiKingUS for the job, the owner, Jeff, contacted amaZulu to source all the materials. The challenge for this job was to source materials that could handle Wisconsin winters and still have a tropical vibe all year long.

Strategy

When working with an outdoor structure this size, symmetry becomes very important and measuring all the components necessary. This tiki hut was created by building a symmetrical gridwork for the frame. This is truly a testament to the quality of Tiki King’s work and attention to detail.

Results

This isn’t just a regular commercial tiki hut! This thatch structure is 24’ in diameter and EPIC is thrilled with the result. Now employees have an outdoor space to enjoy the campus outdoors when the weather allows.

This project was another collaboration between Jeff Larmee @ Tiki King.  amaZulu provided all the tiki hut building supplies and Jeff was the designer and fabricator of this project.
