Thatch Reed Panels:

How do I install the Thatch Reed panels on my existing home’s roof?:

If you are installing Thatch Reed Panels on an existing roof, you will need to install those panels every 12" Additionally, you will need a grid structure built on the roof to allow for water run-off. This grid structure is nothing more that a series of furring strips first applied vertically on the roof then horizontally. Then the thatch reed panels are applied via staples directly to the strips. This allows for water to naturally run off the roof and not be trapped under the panels.

If I have a Tiki hut in the back yard and want Thatch Reed panels applied to the roof, what do I need to do?:

If you have an existing Tiki hut or Spa cover with a grass or palm roof and want to change to a thatch roof, you simply remove the existing roof and apply the Reed panels every 12 inches. These need to be stapled on at a minimum pitch of 30 degrees for structures with no sub-roof. The steeper the pitch the more water-proof the structure will be.

How do I attach Thatch Reed panels to my structure?:

We recommend using galvanized 1 1/2" staples, with a 1/2" or 1/4" crown depending on the staple gun. This will require a heavy-duty staple gun which can be rented at your local home improvement store.
